Barefoot Snowman

Barefoot Snowman

Barefoot Snowman

I fly and I fly and what do you know?
I see a big man made of snow!

From high in the sky I look far below
I see an angel made of snow.

I fly and I fly but where can I go
to find ice cream made of the snow?

I fly and I fly and I do not know
where to find shoes made of the  snow.

Then I find them hiding high in the blues–
the snow ice cream and the snowshoes!

I eat and I eat big bowls of snow cream
and fall asleep to dream and dream.

I fly and I fly whenever I choose
to sled the skies in my snowshoes.

Just a little rhyme to bring a smile three days before Christmas, 2012, because the weather man is forecasting a white Christmas night in the South.

  2. This made me think of the children’s film “The Snowman” based on the Raymond Briggs book. If you haven’t seen it, here is a link to one of the highlights:

Hope you had a great Christmas!

    • I watched this, Inger. I had not seen it before. Nice. My poem does make one think of this. I have no idea who the personna is in my poem. Guess that’s left to each reader’s imagination. 🙂 Thanks for sharing this video with me.

  5. Warm fireplace, hot coffee or chocolate and snowy days or nights. Cozy. I can’t believe we will actually have snow on Christmas, but it would be fun.

Christmas Eve and Christmas day are the only two says of the year that i miss and wish we could have snow. Somehow sitting by a warm fireplace drinking a hot cup of coffee or Chocolate just seemed to make it seem more like Christmas day.
