April Fool

Sights and Smells of April

On April first, the little skunk
did not know what to think.
“Oh, Mother, will you tell me please,
what makes that awful stink?”

“I’d rather not have to say, child,
so I don’t think I will.
I’ll ask your dad to tell you that,
Oh, look! A daffodil!

Peach Blossom

And see the peaches now in bloom
beside the wooden rails?
A rainbow glows after the rains
in April. It never fails!

It brings delight to skies in spring
and rolls out shades of pink.
Oh, don’t go near the fools today–
they love to stir the stink!”
