ABOUT FREEDA–MY TRUE SENTENCE–WRITING, PHOTOGRAPHY, POETRY

Freeda Baker Nichols was born in Arkansas, has lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Maine, Virginia USA and in the romantic country of Spain where she wrote her first short story. She has studied creative writing at San Antonio College, Oklahoma University and the University of Central Arkansas. Her work has appeared in newspapers, magazines and anthologies. She has published two children’s books, Little Bug Eyes and Badfellow the Bull,  a poetry chapbook, Tigers and Morning Glories and a mainstream novel, Call of the Cadron.
She wrote her first poem at the age of nine. The poem was written as an expression of love for her mother. As one of seven children, Freeda grew up on Banner Mountain, near Shirley, Arkansas in the Foothills of the Ozarks. She married Darrel Eugene Nichols, from Shirley, Arkansas, who made his career with the U.S. Air Force. With him, she traveled and lived in many parts of the world. They have four children, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Through the years, Freeda’s love for writing has remained strong and her persistence has brought her to this blog, My True Sentence. Here, she posts  on subjects related to her writing and publishing experience.  She also shares her photography and award-winning poems along with “sneaky peeks” into her journal.
