The gremlin ate my comment. I love this photo, Freeda. We have a lot of them here in NC. It’s also the state bird. Probably why they love our state so much. 😉 I think you were so lucky to have that many. Aren’t they exquisite? I counted 14. I think I’ll hang around and try to get to 17. Somehow I’m missing 3. I stopped getting updates. I bet my email was bouncing. I signed up again. xoxo It did it again. I copied and pasted so I fooled that doggone gremlin.

Hey, Freeda, I have missed your blog. For some reason, I stopped getting updates. My email was probably bouncing. UGH. WOW. What a photo. That’s my state bird. (NC) We have loads of them. They are so beautiful. So magnificent. Your photo does them justice. I’d buy this photo on thank-you cards. I counted 14. My eyes must be bad. I’ll keep trying until I find all 17. Haha
Thanks. Love you, too. I put this one on Facebook and it has received over 400 Likes and lots of comments, people giving the number they count. I guess there might be 19. I can find 17, but some said they find 19. How many did you count. This was fun to receive so many responses to this picture.
There were many more than I could get in the camera’s frame. Maybe some are touring over this way from NC! Funny thing happened just after I took this picture—a sparrowhawk flew down to the vine and the redbirds scattered in a blink. I was snapping another picture and in checking the pic, I found a sparrowhawk landed in the vine, scaring the redbirds away! What a catch, yesterday, but not nearly as redbirds are here today.
awesome!…what a photo!…love the Redbirds!

Thanks. The redbirds are so colorful and actually peaceful, most of them.

Robin, the photo needs to be enlarged to see those in the shadows at the bottom of the page. I hope you will get my blog again in your email.

A greeting card would be nice. I’d be happy if I could get that done with this pic and some others. Happy New Year.

An unusual moment it was! There were more birds than the camera caught. It’s been fun sharing it. Happy New Year!
