My post today is a poem in the Butterfly Pattern. It’s an easy little verse that’s fun to write and share. It’s a one-sentence flitting thought with syllable count of 8-8-4-4-8-8 in rhyme a-a-b-b-c-c. It is often iambic meter.
Old Man Winter
When Old Man Winter came to town,
he brought the snow and plopped it down,
and dropped ice, too
from fingers blue
and when at last he goes away,
we’ll welcome then a cool spring day.

Is anyone ready for spring? I think I am, but I would like one more lovely snow, without ice, please.
I liked the Butterfly pattern. Lovely poem. Maybe I’ll try writing one.

That’s very sweet, Freeda. I agree. The kids are really enjoying gong sledding right now.

Snow is always fun for the kids. And I enjoy it, too, now and then.

It’s name “Butterfly” fits it, doesn’t?

Thank you! Actually, our winter’s not bad, yet. But it can be, even yet.
