A Mother’s Ingenuity

catA Mother’s Ingenuity

I often wish that I could write–
when I pick up the pen–
a story of the wren
that built her nest by moon-pale light
inside a green grapevine
to fool that old feline.
Persistence paid.  Young birds took flight.
