On July 7, 2014, a cowboy dismounted and strode into a bank in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, leaving his horse to graze beneath the tree, a modern-day hitching post with the Stars and Stripes waving nearby. “You just gotta believe in Texas!”

    • The horse was content to graze while his reins were tied to the tree limb. We were re-fueling the car at the Wal-Mart gas station on our way back to Arkansas. My daughter saw the cowboy walk into the bank, and I took pictures of the horse. By the time we were leaving, the cowboy had not returned.
