Swans on the Lake

DSC_0450The Swans

At a lake in the country
in a land far away
blue is the water
and blue is the sky
and sunny the day
graceful white swans
fly in for a swim
and decide to stay
at a lake in the country
in a land far away.
Wingspan’s magnificent
shakes off the spray
of water so blue
it blends into
the sky high above
the lake in the country
in a land far away
where graceful white swans
swim, dive and play.

I don’t think I have ever seen water this blue, but perfect for showing the white swans, which are lovely.

    • The lake was beautiful and shows more blue in the photo than it actually looked. The swans come in November and leave in early March. I had heard a lot about them but this year is the first time I’ve seen them. I want to go see them again. I loved it. There are so many of them.

Lovely, both swans and poem. I hear they can be aggressive when approached. They just don’t look like they’d hurt a fly.
