  1. Cute picture–do you have a telephoto lens or was the little guy just that cooperative? Your haiku is perfect for the picture. BTW, I found our long lost holiday poetry magnets, so our refrigerator is going to be a hot spot soon!

    • Inger, tell me again how the poetry magnets work. I’ve never heard of those. I loved a time when Gene would try writing haiku. How wonderful it would be to get the kids to try it! Yes, I have a telephoto lens but the little sparrow was close to my front porch. The limbs he’s on are lying on the ground from the giant red oak that had to be cut down, Friday November 15th. The tree was dying. It was probably much more than 100 years old. That’s three front-yard oaks we’ve lost in the past twenty years or so. Fifteen left. Watch for pictures of the fallen tree. The picture of the bird was also enlarged with photoshop. I hope you will share some of your haiku.
