Goodbyes Are Better Left Unsaid

The sun is changing now for night–
a pink delight.
I watch it fade
and masquerade.
When darkened clouds turn dapple gray,
I turn away
with aching heart
to find that part
of me has died.  I then erase
your happy face
in silhouette—
the day we met.
