Symbol of Love

Little Brown Church in the Valley

In heat of August, little brown church stands–
a beacon to those who have lost their way.
It beckons to people like outstretched hands
and welcomes back all who have gone astray.

A beacon to those who have lost their way,
the little church nestles beside a creek
and welcomes back all who have gone astray.
Its doors unbolted each day of the week–

The little church nestles beside a creek.
Its steeple points upward to Heaven’s Gate.
Its doors unbolted each day of the week–
a symbol of love in a world of hate.

Its steeple points upward to Heaven’s Gate.
The church’s foundation is God’s Commands.
A symbol of love in a world of hate.
In heat of August, little brown church stands.
