My Daddy — Keeper of the Reins ———— Day 29 napowrimo

The brim on the gray felt hat
that shaded his face
in hot summertime
was soaked with perspiration
but no sun could erase or
lessen the deep blue
of his eyes because
my daddy’s heart controlled them.

  2. I’ve been wondering if you’re going to be sad or relieved when napowrimo ends… It seems like a wonderful (though probably sometimes hard) exercise.

    • It is a great exercise for poets! I love it, and love sharing it. But I’m ready to take a break from its daily discipline and turn my energy and time to fiction. My writing plans are to publish a poetry chapbook, finish a short story, market my novel, “Call of the Cadron.” And of course, continue blogging! I love hearing from viewers and followers. Thank you, Inger. You’ve been encouraging to me since the beginning of my blog. I enjoy your blog, Art of Natural Living.
